Five Ingredient Hummus

IMG_9225.jpg

There’s nothing quite like the fresh taste of homemade hummus. I’ve tried many brands of the spread, and nothing seems to compare. Homemade hummus is significantly less processed, and tends to be healthier since you control the ingredients. If you have a food processor, this incredibly easy to make. If not, don’t fear! You can still whip this up in no time, just be prepared to do some stirring.

All you really need for hummus are the base ingredients - tahini, oil and chickpeas - then you can add whatever spices or seasonings you like.

Happy snacking!

Ingredients

  • 1 15-oz can garbanzo beans

  • 1/4 cup tahini

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 3 Tbsp lemon juice

  • 3 Tbsp olive oil

DIRECTIONS

  1. Blend first four ingredients in a food processor until smooth.

  2. Slowly drizzle in olive oil while continuing to pulse.

  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
